About Været.org

Været.org is a modern Norwegian weather service that gathers weather information from official sources and presents it in a clear and fast interface.

Our data sources

• The Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) — forecasts, warnings (yellow/orange/red), nowcast and marine weather
• Global weather models — 14-day forecast and UV index
• NILU — air quality (PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, O₃)
• NVE / Varsom — avalanche, flood and landslide warnings
• CAMS / Open-Meteo — pollen forecast
• RainViewer — precipitation radar

Technology

Været.org is built with plain PHP without a framework. File cache + cron warmup make the pages load in about 1 second even with several external APIs. We use Leaflet with OpenStreetMap tiles for maps and self-hosted web fonts (CLS=0).

Our promise

• Fast — under 1 second, no blocking third-party scripts.
• Honest — we always show the data source. If the forecast is uncertain, we say so.
• Ad-free — no banners, no popups.
• Official sources — we use official Norwegian meteorological data.
